Corporate History

April, 1919 Started operation through the merger of Yokkaichi Kaiso & Co., Ltd. and Kaiso-kumi & Co., Ltd. (both were established in 1896) (Capital of 500 thousand JPY).
Engaged in NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Ltd.) agency, and exclusive cargo handling, stevedoring and general shipping business, and agency business, warehousing business and customs clearance.
November, 1942 Taken over by Kawanishi Warehouse Co., Ltd. and became its Harbor Forwarding Division.
April, 1952 Launched again as Asahi Unyu Kaisha, Ltd. after Harbor transportation Division was separated from Nagoya Branch of Kawanishi Warehouse Co.,Ltd. (Capital of 2 million JPY).
Engaged in general harbor transportation business and obtained customs broker license and designated by Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Ltd. and Kawanishi Warehouse Co.,Ltd. as a specified freight forwarder.
December, 1961 Established Yokkaichi Office and started shipping agency business at Yokkaichi Port.
April, 1965 Increased the capital up to 8 million JPY. Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Ltd. made an investment in our company.
December, 1968 Increased the capital up to 100 million JPY.
December, 1969 Moved the principal office to Meiko Bldg. (its present site)
March, 1971 Completed cargo sheds and Van Pool Operation in Nippon Yusen Nagoya Container Center (NCC).
July, 1971 Started international multimodal forwarding business.
June, 1974 Obtained warehousing business license.
May, 1975 Opened Tokyo Office.
April, 1978 Expanded into Nagoya Port Transportation Center.
April, 1986 Established Asahi Service Co.,Ltd. and started used container sales business and insurance agency business.
April, 1989 Established Asahi Mentex Corp. and started container and ship-related equipment repair business.
January, 1992 Established a subsidiary, ASAHI UNYU KAISHA (UK) LTD. in the UK.
April, 1993 Expanded into Nagoya Port International Integrated Transportation Center.
November, 1997 Opened a resident office in Singapore.
April, 1998 Changed the subsidiary's company name, ASAHI UNYU KAISHA (UK) LTD. to ASAHI LOGISTICS LTD. (ALL)
December, 1999 Obtained ISO9002 certification in the Logistics business and operation.
February, 2001 Obtained ISO9002 certification in the Marine business and operation.
April, 2002 The 50th anniversary.
December, 2003 Changed the subsidiary's company name, ASAHI LOGISTICS LTD. (ALL) to The Logistics Corporation LTD. (TLC)
September, 2004 Transferred shares, the subsidiary in the UK through MBO (Management Buyout) and designated as an agency in the UK.
July, 2005 Closed down the resident office in Singapore.
July, 2007 Inaugurated Asahi Unyu Kaisha, Ltd. Nagoya Port Transportation Center (ANTC) and Asahi Unyu Kaisha, Ltd. Tobishima Container Center (ATCC).
February, 2008 Invested in RORO STEVEDORING (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (abbreviated as "RST").
February, 2009 Certified as AEO Warehouse Operator by Nagoya customs.
May, 2010 Obtained with Green Management Certification.
April, 2011 Certified as AEO Customs Broker by Nagoya customs.
April, 2012 The 60th anniversary.
June, 2014 Opened packing center in Nagoya Port Transportation Center.
July, 2014 Opened motor pool at Sorami area.
April, 2015 Merged Asahi Service Co,Ltd. to Asahi Mentex Corp.
